MID-HUDSON – Sunday’s strong winds ripped trees out by the roots ad brought down powerlines across the region.
Power was out in various areas across the Valley from Rockland and Putnam counties to Ulster, Dutchess and Orange.
Utility crews were out removing trees and repairing electric wires wherever possible.
In the Tuxedo-Sloatsburg area, power was out in the afternoon when a large tree was brought down by the strong winds along Route 17 in Tuxedo.

On Saturday, winds toppled a large tree that landed across the roofs of two vehicles in a family’s driveway.
