NEW CITY – A New City man, who was a former employee of TJ McGowan’s Funeral Home at 133 Broadway in Haverstraw, was sentenced in Rockland County Court on Tuesday to 18 years to life in prison for shooting the facility’s manager to death.

Gerard O’Sullivan, 61, killed Noe Hamer, 42, in the rear parking lot of funeral home on February 6, 2020.

“What was described in court today was a cold-blooded assassination, said District Attorney Tom Walsh. “The murder occurred because the defendant followed Now from one job site to another. O’Sullivan knew Hamer didn’t have the physical ability to evade his murderer.”

Walsh’s office sought a sentence of 25 years to life in prison.
