Mid-Hudson News has launched a “Student Journalist” section to allow elementary, middle, and high-school students to write essays or “news as they see it” for submission.  The following is an essay from one of our “Student Journalists”, Hannah Danielle Graham.

How COVID-19 has affected me is that you can’t go anywhere unless necessary, not even school. It’s kind of hard to stay inside because on a break like this you usually go out and enjoy yourself outside. Now we are forced to stay inside and we can’t go anywhere. It’s kind of been boring since being quarantined for more than a month. I mean I have done a lot of things like, I have been baking, writing, playing my instrument, watched a little tv, and doing some schoolwork. But it’s not as much fun being outside where you can go to stores, malls, playgrounds, and spend time in the environment. Instead, we have to stay here.

Even worse, we can’t even go to school. I mean schools are ok but I’d rather go. But I didn’t mean it to completely unclose for more than a month. but I have gotten used to it being in school virtually. It takes only a few to do the daily tasks and then I’m free to do whatever I want. I mean I find time to do things I get bored easily. I’d rather be out there going out to different places instead of being inside all day. And even worse,   if we go out to unnecessary stores we have to wear masks everywhere, keep 6 feet apart and barely get the things we don’t need! and I know the law that leaving your house is dangerous and going anywhere unless it’s necessary and I know that’s a rule but this whole thing just feels just is really different and weird that we have to stay inside all day for 2 months and barely. It’s not going to take a lot to get used to it because I am!
