NEW ROCHELLE – State Police have arrested a Valley Stream man on weapons possession charges after being stopped for vehicle and traffic violations on I-95 in the City of New Rochelle.
Police pulled over Tyrese Johnson, 21, at 8:5 p.m. on December 1 and found a loaded 9 mm handgun in his vehicle. It was loaded with a large capacity ammunition feeding device containing several rounds of ammunition. An additional large capacity ammunition feeding device was also located in the vehicle.
Johnson was charged with criminal possession of a weapon – a loaded firearm other than in a person’s home or business and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, all as felonies, and a misdemeanor or unlawful possession of a large capacity ammunition feeding device as a misdemeanor.
He was arraigned and remanded to Westchester County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.
