GOSHEN – Three Orange County DMV employees in the Middletown office have contracted COVID-19 and as a precautionary measure, the county has closed all DMV offices until at least Thursday, November 12.

County Clerk Annie Rabbitt said all appointments will be rescheduled with notifications by email.

County Health Commissioner Dr. Irina Gelman said anyone who worked at or visited the Middletown DMV at 12 King Street between November 2 and November 6, may have been exposed to the virus.

Gelman recommends that if you think you were at the Middletown DMV office during that timeframe, to watch for symptoms of COVID-19, which may include, but not limited to fever, chills, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headaches, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion, runny nose, nausea or vomiting.

She advised residents to consider any public site in Orange County as a potential site of COVID-19 exposure, due to a persistent increase in newly diagnosed cases throughout the county.

Since the pandemic began, 14.281 people have tested positive in Orange County.
