State Police car hit; witnesses being sought

KENT – A New York State Trooper was injured Friday night when his patrol car was struck by a tractor-trailer in a hit-and-run collision.

According to the State Police, the incident occurred On Friday, August 21, at approximately 11:45 pm, on I-84.  The Trooper was monitoring traffic while parked on the westbound shoulder of the interstate in the Town of Kent.  While the Trooper was parked, an unidentified tractor-trailer struck the patrol vehicle and continued on without stopping.

The Trooper was transported to Putnam Hospital where he was treated for his injuries and released.
