BEDFORD – A Beacon man is in Westchester County Jail, accused of stealing a FedEx truck from Long Island. 52-year-old Jose Rios was arrested by the New York State Police on Friday, August 21, 2020, and charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 3rd degree, a class D felony.
At approximately 12:04 a.m. Friday, Troopers were dispatched to Interstate 684 to be on the lookout for a stolen FedEx truck from out of Long Island. The truck was located traveling northbound in the area of mile marker 18 on I-684. The sole occupant, Jose Rios, was taken into custody without incident with assistance from the Westchester County Police Department.
Rios was arraigned before the town of Bedford Court and remanded to the Westchester County Jail without bail. He is next scheduled to appear before the court on September 16, 2020, at 9:00 a.m.
