NEW WINDSOR – State Assemblyman Colin Schmitt (R-New Windsor) has collected 3,000 petition signatures calling on the governor to approve the reopening of gyms and fitness centers.
Schmitt said those facilities are more than just places to exercise.
“In a time when people are facing severe stresses and other difficulties that might exacerbate existing problems they have. I truly believe we need a process for these health centers – they are really an extension of our health system – to offer physical, mental, and emotional relief and services that they do,” he said.
Schmitt said those facilities could reopen using COVID-19 health precautions.
