POUGHKEEPSIE – The Dutchess County Office for the Aging is set to begin their 2020 senior picnics on Tuesday, with the first taking place in Pleasant Valley.

To maintain the social-distancing policies designed to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus, the picnics will have a different look this year.  The picnics are done on a drive-thru basis and attendees must RSVP by calling 845-486-2555.

Office for the Aging Director Todd Tancredi said “The response rate has been very high among our seniors and we are expecting a great turnout.” Tancredi also noted that Office for the Aging staff will be present “To say hi and let them know we miss them.”

The Dutchess County Office for the Aging is also distributing coupon books for local farmers’ markets throughout the county.

The farmers’ market coupon books are being distributed on a drive-thru basis.  On Monday, the books were distributed at a drive-thru setup in the parking lot of the office at 114 Delafield Syreet in Poughkeepsie.  Additional dates will be posted on the website or those seeking books can call 845-486-2555.
