SAUGERTIES – A 38-year-old man has been arrested by Saugerties Police on a felony charge of criminal mischief for allegedly smashing out the front and rear windows of a transport van at the Anderson School for Autism at 38 Fortune Valley Lane.

Police responded to the school on July 8 to check the welfare of a man identified as Robert Guarino. He had called Ulster County 911 and then hung up.

The county 911 received a second call of a man out of control at the same location.

When officers arrived, staff reported he had used a rock to break both front and back windows of a facility van.

He was issued an appearance ticket for criminal mischief and turned over to the Anderson facility.
