KINDERHOOK – A 40-year-old Kinderhook man was charged late Sunday morning, May 31 after being stopped on Route 9H in the Town of Kinderhook.

State Police from the Livingston barracks pulled Christopher Sidoti over for a vehicle and traffic stop.

He proceeded to direct obscene language and gestures at the troopers. He was warned several times and then ordered to leave. He left but returned and continued his obscene behavior in front of members of the public.

At that point police told him he was under arrest for disorderly conduct but refused to comply and provide ID before trying to run away. He was caught and physically assaulted the troopers. After a brief struggle, he was subdued. One trooper sustained minor injuries.

Sidoti was arraigned virtually and remanded to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $500 cash bail or $2,000 bond.
