As she was about to leave in the taxi, officers learned through a computer check that she was wanted in New York City on a felony drug charge.

The tax was stopped, and Padilla was advised she was under arrest. As officers removed her, she was spotted placing a plastic bag down the back of her pants.

She briefly struggled with officers before being placed under arrest and was found in possession of 83 grams of crack cocaine packaged for sale and 117 glassine envelopes of heroin.

Padilla was arraigned virtually before Sullivan County Court Judge James Farrell and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail without bail pending further court action.

State Police assisted Monticello Police.
