ACCORD – State Police from the Wawarsing barracks arrested an Accord couple on Thursday, May 7 on assault and criminal mischief charges.
Richard Ronda, 41, and Julie Ronda, 36, were also charged with petit larceny and harassment.
Investigation revealed both individuals went to a home in Accord and got into a verbal altercation over a previous incident and that turned physical with by Rondas allegedly striking the victim in the face and head several times. Her cell phone was taken so she could not call 911. She was able to contact 911 using a neighbor’s phone.
Arriving troopers contacted Kerhonkson Rescue, which rendered medical attention to the woman.
Troopers then went to the Ronda’s residence and took them into custody without incident.
Both were arraigned via Skype and released on their own recognizance.
An order of protection was issued on behalf of the victim.
