First COVID-19 death in Dutchess as positive cases continue to rise in Hudson Valley

MID-HUDSON – Over 1,900 cases of the coronavirus have been confirmed in the Hudson Valley as of Saturday, according to the state health department.

At the same time, one person has succumbed to the virus in Dutchess County, an informed source told Mid-Hudson News. The state health department has not responded to an inquiry. The individual passed away at MidHudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie.

Columbia and Greene counties have the least number, at two each.

Sullivan County has 15 reported cases while Ulster County has 18 confirmed cases.

Putnam County has 22 positive cases while Dutchess County reported 49.

Orange County reported 219 cases while Westchester County has 1,387.
