STEWART AIRPORT – As concern continues about travel and being in large assemblages, AvPorts, the company that runs the day-to-day operations at New York Stewart International Airport offers tips for air travelers to help slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

“Since the first reported cases of COVID-19, AvPorts and the airports we operate have been monitoring the developments and spread of the disease very closely,” said company CEO Jorge Roberts. “We have also implemented the Airport Preparedness Protocol, which includes ensuring staff is briefed and prepared, and that facilities are providing hand sanitizer and antiseptic wipes to passengers and staff.”

Roberts also said they have increased the cleaning of public spaces such as handrails and other surfaces. “We also recommend those who are traveling to take basic precautions, like frequently washing their hands and covering their mouth with their elbows when coughing.”

In addition to New York-Stewart, AvPorts operates at Teterboro Airport in New Jersey, another Port Authority facility, and Westchester County Airport.
