WASHINGTON – Northern Westchester Hospital in Mount Kisco will receive just under $4 million in federal funds from FEMA for the installation of a permanent and reliable emergency electrical system.

The money will be used to offset the cost of rebuilding the emergency power system that made it more reliable, efficient and environmentally friendly.

The funding was originally requested in 2012, and this recent award brings the total FEMA funding to $9.4 million.

The grant was announced by Senators Charles Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand and Congresswoman Nita Lowey (D, NY-17).
