Latest Newburgh murder victim was homeless man

NEWBURGH – Police say a man who died after being assaulted last week was a homeless individual who was staying in Newburgh and was known in the community.

Around 6 a.m. on Tuesday, February 18, police were called to the Hasbrouck Street Park on Hasbrouck Street where they found Christian Breslin, 40, who was bleeding from the face.

He was last seen leaving the United Fried Chicken restaurant at 64 William Street.

Breslin was transported to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla where he died this past Tuesday, February 25.

As a result, police are calling the death a homicide.
