NANUET – The Clarkstown Detective Bureau has a person of interest in custody in regards to the Chase Bank robbery from earlier today.
Detectives were able to gather invaluable information at the scene which led investigators to the person of interest. This was all able to take place within four hours from when the robbery initially occurred to when the individual was placed in custody at 1:45 p.m.
The robbery occurred today at approximately 10:40 a.m.
The initial reports stated that a male wearing a black knit cap, black jacket and blue jeans entered the bank and passed a note to the teller. At this point in the investigation it is still unclear the amount of money was stolen by the suspect.
The suspect exited the bank and possibly fled in a blue taxi.
There were no injuries to the bank employees.
