TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE – Dutchess Community College (DCC) students, faculty, and staff will stage a reading of Eve Ensler’s award-winning play “The Vagina Monologues” on February 13 at 7 PM in the James and Betty Hall Theatre on DCC’s Poughkeepsie campus. There is no charge for admission, but cash donations will be accepted for the Grace Smith House, a local nonprofit agency providing services to victims of domestic violence.

The reading is being held to mark V-Day, a global movement featuring widespread benefit performances to raise awareness and funds for anti-violence groups. V-Day founder Ensler interviewed more than 200 women before creating “The Vagina Monologues,” which celebrates women’s strength and sexuality, and contains adult content.

The performance is presented by the Association of Women at DCC, the Women’s Activities Committee and the Masquers’ Guild Theatre Club. A bake sale will follow the reading.
