Elderly jogger seriously injured by car on Route 9W

MARLBORO – A 77-year-old Marlboro man was seriously injured when he was struck by a southbound Hyundai while jogging on Route 9W in Marlboro at 7:30 Tuesday morning, Marlborough Town Police said.

Michael Heller was jogging along Route 9W in the area of Bloom Street and was attempting to cross the road when he was struck by a southbound car driven by Maureen Moreno, 38, of Milton.

Heller was transported to MidHudson Regional Hospital with serious injuries, police said.

The incident remains under investigation by Marlborough Police assisted at the scene by State Police, Ulster County Emergency Services, Mobile Life Support Services, and the Marlborough Fire Department.
