SLOATSBURG – The driver of a car that crashed into the rear of a tractor-trailer parked on the shoulder of the Thruway in Sloatsburg Monday morning was transported to Westchester Medical Center with life-threatening injuries and was listed in critical condition, State Police said.
At about 7:30 a.m., on the eastbound Thruway, a 2007 Toyota Avalon traveling southbound drove off the roadway on the right shoulder and struck the rear of the truck.
The driver of the car had to be extricated from the vehicle. The driver of the truck was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
