PORT JERVIS – State Assemblyman Karl Brabenec (R, C, I – Deerpark), announced that he will seek re-election to his 98th District seat this November.

He will be completing his third two-year term this year.

“I’m running for re-election because there is much more work to be done to make our state prosperous again,” he said at a formal announcement event on
Saturday. “We need to restore the public’s faith in government with real reform; we need to repeal and amend the bail reforms that have been enacted to keep New York State residents safe, and most importantly, we need to lower taxes and regulations on small business to grow jobs and the economy,” he said.

Brabenec, who serves as assistant minority whip of the Republican Conference and ranking member of the Assembly Labor Committee, was Deerpark town supervisor prior to his initial run for the Assembly.

The 98th District includes the City of Port Jervis and the towns of Deerpark, Greenville, Minisink, Warwick, Monroe, Palm Tree, Tuxedo and portions of northwestern Ramapo.
