GOSHEN – It has been close to a year since waterpark operator Great Wolf Lodge said it was exploring the development of a facility in Orange County, possibly at the county’s Camp LaGuardia project that straddles the towns of Chester and Blooming Grove.
County Executive Steven Neuhaus now said the company is still very interested in Camp LaGuardia and he hinted at others as well. “That site as well as other options in the county, but we will see; we have to make everything work. It’s a long way to go before we get to an agreement, but I think they are very much interested and they see the success that Legoland is going to be having next year and that has opened the door for other theme park-type things,” he said.
A request for proposals to redevelop portions of Camp LaGuardia will be issued by the county early in the new year.
