LAGRANGE – At approximately 1:40 p.m. Tuesday a panic alarm was activated on the campus of Arlington High School.  Protocol dictated that the school be placed in a lockdown.

The School Resource Officer was been joined by approximately 18 members of the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office and at least two New York State troopers at the Route 55 campus.

Police radio traffic indicated that there is no “apparent” reason for the alarm.  Law enforcement, working in teams of two, cleared the building on a room-by-room basis.

The campus was closed to outside traffic until the lockdown was lifted late in the afternoon.
