Fire damages Marlboro residence

MARLBORO – Fire Tuesday afternoon at 76 Reservoir Road in the Marlborough Fire District damaged a residence and displaced two adult residents, Fire Chief Erick Masten said. The cause is under investigation.

When firefighters arrived on the scene at 2:45 p.m., they encountered fire through the roof with extension throughout the attic.

A second alarm was transmitted.

Crews were able to remove the family dog from the home, but efforts to revive it were unsuccessful.

The fire was placed under control at 3:20 p.m. All units returned to service at midnight.

The Marlboro Hose Co. No. 1 was assisted on the scene by Milton Engine Company, Town of Marlborough Police, Mobile Life Support Services, Central Hudson Gas and Electric, American Red Cross, Ulster County Department of Emergency services, Ulster County Fire Investigation Unit and the Office of Fire Prevention and Control.
