Middletown to assist voters to early voting polls

MIDDLETOWN – Mayor Joseph DeStefano announced on Wednesday that the City of Middletown Senior Bus would be available to give Middletown residents a ride to the early voting poll site, located at the Mulberry House Senior Center if they require assistance.

“Our goal is to increase voter turnout in our city,” DeStefano said.

Senior Director Julissa Sierra said transportation would assist is provided to Middletown residents, roundtrip during the weekend scheduled hours for early voting at the center. Saturday, November 2 hours are 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Bus service is available for entire early voting period. Sunday, November 3 early voting hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Transportation with transportation available from noon to 3 p.m. only.

“This is a community effort to provide transportation to any person, regardless of political party,” DeStefano stated. This is the first time that early voting has been offered in New York State and we hope that this will allow more residents exercise their right to vote.
