Three-vehicle crash shuts down westbound Rt. 17 in Monroe area

MONROE – A three-car crash on Route 17 west in the Monroe area Monday afternoon shut down the highway in the area of exit 129 for hours.

The box broke free from a box truck resulting in the vehicle tipping over and involving two cars as well.

State Trooper Steven Nevel said there were no serious injuries.

Police, EMS and fire personnel were on the scene for hours.
