Fundraiser held for Monroe native, NYPD cop killed during gang investigation

YORKTOWN – Family and friends gathered on Saturday at FDR Park in Yorktown to raise money for Brian’s Mulkeen family and fiancé.

The 33-year-old New York City Police officer from Monroe was shot and killed by friendly fire on Saturday, September 29 during an investigation into gang activity in the Bronx.

Dozens of fellow cops, coworkers and friends came out to the part of the brisk fall day to raise funds for the family.

Mulkeen and his fiancé, Sherry had recently purchased a house in Yorktown Heights.
