Three Kingston men arrested following theft of hemp from farm

RED HOOK – Three Kingston men were arrested late on Thursday afternoon by Red Hook Town Police following a report of a suspicious vehicle and a trespass complaint at a local farm.

Officers located the vehicle on Route 9G, conducted a traffic stop and vehicle search and recovered 22 pounds of hemp plants that had been stolen from the farm property.

Arrested were Peter Bonavita, 45, Raven Banks, 18, and Joshua Guldy, 18, each charged with felony grand larceny as well as criminal trespass and criminal possession of stolen property, both as misdemeanors. They were sent to the Dutchess County Jail on bail.

Red Hook Police were assisted by State Police.
