Worker who hit high-voltage line in Town of Newburgh has died

TOWN OF NEWBURGH – The man who came in contact with a high-voltage power line while in a bucket-lift while trimming trees in the Town of Newburgh on August 7 has died, police said Friday.

The victim of the incident on property at Lattintown Road and Babes Lane was identified as Renaldo Martinez-Cruz, 34, of Poughkeepsie.

He was trimming trees while in the bucket about 20 to 25 feet in the air around 1:30 p.m. when he sustained injuries and suffered cardiac arrest.
