Sullivan County man, subject of immigration warrant, arrested on drug charges

MONTICELLO – The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Gang and Narcotics Intelligence Unit, Thursday, arrested a Bloomingburg man on drug charges following a six month investigation into drug trafficking in the area.

Homer Watson, 38, came onto U.S. Homeland Security Investigation’s radar in February when he began receiving narcotics purity testing kits in the mail from Canada.

Deputies arrested Watson at his residence at 11 Crotty Court and seized 111 grams of cocaine, 13 grams of heroin, 43 grams of marijuana, $7,000 in cash, scales with packaging materials and a hydraulic press to mold powered cocaine into bricks.

Watson, who is a Jamaican national, is also the subject of an immigration warrant.

He was charged with felony drug possession and possession with intent to sell and misdemeanors of possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and endangering the welfare of a child.

He was arraigned and sent to the Sullivan County Jail without bail.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by U.S. Homeland Security agents.
