BETHEL – State Police arrested six people for underage drinking while in the parking lots outside Bethel Woods. Troopers from the Liberty barracks conducted the initiative, charging those six with the possession of alcohol by a minor in violation of the state’s Alcoholic Beverage Control law.

All were processed on scene and released to sober adults pending future court appearances.

The State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services says underage drinking is associated with the three most common causes of death among youths including accidental deaths like car crashes, homicides, and suicides.

State Police said they will continue to conduct underage drinking enforcement details statewide to protect residents of the state and its youth.
