KINGSTON – Ed Ford announced he will retire as Kingston city historian after 35 years of service. Ford, now 101 years old, will step down this summer.

“It has been my great pleasure to work with Ed over these last four years, and it’s bittersweet to see him retire,” said Mayor Steven Noble. “Ed will be missed, but he will remain one of our most important and beloved Kingstonians.”

Noble named Taylor Bruck, an archivist for Ulster County’s Records Bureau and a protégé of Ford, as Ford’s replacement.

A farewell reception and ceremony will be held at City Hall for Ford at 11 a.m. on August 13.
