Truck trailer goes up in flames on Thruway

CATSKILL – Flames lit up the nighttime sky along the Thruway in Greene County Tuesday night.

A truck trailer pulled over on the side of the southbound highway between exits 22 and 21 around 9 p.m. send flames and plumes of thick black smoke into the air.

Firefighters were on the scene extinguishing the blaze as motorists continued to drive by the scene.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
