MIDDLE HOPE – Newburgh Town Police identified the victim in Wednesday’s four-car pile-up on Route 9W in Middle Hope as Barbara Moloney, 78, of Marlboro.
The drivers of three other vehicles involved in the incident at about 1:40 p.m. were treated for injuries that were not serious, police said.
The accident, which occurred near Middle Hope Cold Storage, shut the roadway down for several hours as the investigation continued.
The cause of the crash remains unknown.
