WHITE PLAINS – A homeless man in New Rochelle pled guilty to killing a homeless woman in that city last summer.

Olmos

Jose Olmos, 29, admitted in Westchester County Court on Thursday that he killed Nurten Seljuk on Friday, July 27, 2018 in the early morning hours as she pulled a piece of luggage while in the area of Main Street in New Rochelle to an abandoned naval armory building. Her body was found in the driveway of the armory grounds.

Police traced his steps by reviewing surveillance videos.

The victim died from several blunt force trauma injuries and asphyxiation.

Olmos was arrested by New Rochelle Police last July, the day after the crime.

When sentenced this July, he faces up to 25 years to life in prison.
