NANUET – Local, state and federal law enforcement have arrested a Nanuet couple at their home following a warrant search that turned up two loaded and unserialized semi-automatic handguns, three high-capacity magazines, five major firearms components, and a large amount of unserialized gun parts.

The firearms were not safely locked away and were within easy reach of two children, ages seven and nine, who live in the home.

Tao Zhang and Vivian Wu, both 35, were each charged with several counts of criminal possession of a weapon all in relation to two semi-automatic 9 mm pistols, three high-capacity magazines, two Glock style 9 mm magazines with 31 capacity and one AR-15 style 5.56/.223 caliber magazine with 30 capacity, un-serialized ghost gun parts, and endangering the welfare of a child.

Rockland County District Attorney Thomas Walsh II said that Tao Zhang was previously convicted of a felony in 2015.

Both were remanded to the Rockland County Jail on $50,000 cash bail, $100,000 bond and $200,000 partially secured bond.
