Garofolo receives several awards from Dutchess County business community

Dutchess County resident Carl Garofolo Jr. of Fidelis Care has been recognized by the business community.

POUGHKEEPSIE – Dutchess County resident Carl Garofolo Jr. of Fidelis Care has been recognized by the business community.

Alignable, the online network for local business has awarded Garofolo as the local Businessperson of the Year and Community Supporter of business for Poughkeepsie, and Dutchess County. As an active on-line Alignable member for the past three years, Garofolo, has established nearly 700 business connections throughout the United States while receiving 79 highly recommended referrals, and earning more than 7,000 views to his profile.

In addition, Garofolo, was named as the Businessperson Meritorious by the Greater Mahopac-Carmel Chamber of Commerce. He has been an active member of several chambers of commerce for more than 20 years. His understanding and knowledge about the important work that chambers of commerce do in support of local businesses and communities, is reflected by his membership in seven different chambers of commerce during his career. As an active member of the Greater Mahopac-Carmel Chamber of Commerce for the past 10 years, Garofolo has served on various committees, as the Vice Chairman for two years, and he has been elected to the board of directors for three consecutive terms as he begins his ninth year as a member of the board.

Garofolo was also presented with proclamations from New York State Congressman, Michael Lawler, New York State Assemblyman, Matthew Slater, Putnam County Executive, Kevin Byrne, the Putnam County Legislator, and the Town of Carmel, Town Board.

A Community Relations Specialist for the Marketing Department at Fidelis Care, Garofolo is widely recognized as the go to person of the organization in the Hudson Valley. His volunteer and community contributions over the years have included working with the United Way, the American Heart Association, The XP Society and Camp Sundown, Special Olympics, and several different American Cancer Society organizations.

A voice-over actor, Master of Ceremonies, radio broadcaster, and motivational speaker. Garofolo is a proud member of the Poughkeepsie Elks B.P.O.E., and the Knights of Columbus, and in 2000, he was elected to the Dutchess County Sports Museum Hall of Fame for his contributions to sports and community.

Garofolo has been recognized by the United Way, the Benevolent Protected Oder of Elks, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, the Exchange Club, Literacy Volunteers of America, and others for his many accomplishments and dedication to worthy causes.
