FORESTBURGH – An as-yet unidentified body has been found in a marshy area of Sullivan County woods in Forestburgh where dozens of emergency personnel, rangers, and volunteers have been searching for a missing 36-year-old Glen Spey man since last week.

According to Sullivan County Undersheriff Eric Chaboty, the as-yet unidentified body was spotted early afternoon, Good Friday, April 7.

A coroner and New York State Police Forensic Investigation team are on scene, according to Chaboty. As of just before 3 p.m. those officials were working their way to a heavily marshy location where a body was spotted. Chaboty stressed that the body has not been identified, nor have further details yet been received.

Meanwhile, the family of Harold Hoyt, the missing Glen Spey father of two, has been stationed at the site of this search area each day for the past week, as they are Friday afternoon. They were notified about the discovery of a body in the search area, but also advised that the body has not yet been identified.

The family has continued to express gratitude for those who have searched daily for Hoyt since being notified that he went missing in this area last Thursday morning, March 30.
