Stephen A Shelley, a resident of Liberty, New York passed away on Thursday, Sept 19, 2024. Born on April 28, 1955, he was the son of the late Kenneth Shelley and Flossie Barriger Shelley.

From a young age, Steve was dedicated worker. He traveled West to work on the oil rigs in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. It was there he had a memorable encounter assisting Willie Nelson. After returning to Liberty, he spent many years working as a heavy equipment operator for Hamlin Construction before retiring from the Village of Liberty. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved camping, snowmobiling, playing horseshoes in the White Sulphur Springs league, ice fishing and especially hunting. He never missed an opportunity to share his love and passion for the outdoors with his family.

Survivors include his brother-in-law, James (Robin) Green and family, sister-in-law, Tami (Mike) Chanov and family, Terry Dumas, as well as many good friends, nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a brother Kenneth, Charles (Pat) & Doris Green, Charles (Butch) & Patti Green, and his furry companions, Liz & Molly.

Dignified cremation provided by Harris Crematorium LLC; funeral services will be private.
