Rosalie G. Orlando – Millbrook
Rosalie passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 2, 2023, with her family by her side. Daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Soldiveria) Chiumento, she was born on July 25, 1930, in Poughkeepsie, NY.
On May 28, 1950, she married Frank Orlando in Baltimore, Maryland. Rosalie was an avid reader and enjoyed writing poetry. She was president of the Writer’s Guild in the late 1960’s. She loved to travel and meet new people. She will be remembered for her Christmas Eve parties, where family and friends would gather to celebrate the season. Most of all, family meant everything to her. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and passing on her love of reading.
Rosalie is survived by her husband, Frank, daughter, Francine Chorney, son, Francis (Margaret) Orlando; her grandchildren, Christopher and Michael Hanna; Adrienne, Thomas, and Jonathan Orlando; great-grandchildren, William Chorney and Olivia Hanna; several nieces and nephews; and her brothers, Ralph and John Chiumento.
She is predeceased by her daughter, Dawn Orlando Mejias; grandson, Will Chorney; and brother, Gerald Chiumento.
