FISHKILL – Nancy Rose Bareford, 85, an area resident for over 20 years, passed away at home on May 9, 2023. She previously lived in Carmel.
Born on January 16, 1938, in Mount Vernon, Nancy was the daughter of the late George and Antoinette (Vorauer) Brewster. On February 1, 1974, she married George Bareford who predeceased her in 1995. Nancy was employed by the Carmel Central School District for over 20 years until her retirement.
Nancy enjoyed ballroom dancing and painting. When she was younger, she excelled as a softball pitcher. She was also an avid collector, and especially liked owls. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her fiancé, Edward McCaffrey; her children, Laura Belcher of Hopewell Junction, Alyson Smith of Fishkill, Mel Farrisi of Hopewell Junction, Jean (Michael) Kozloski of Hopewell Junction, Mary (Shawn) Smith of Hopewell Junction, Christopher (Tanya) Farrisi of Carlisle, PA, and Jacquelyn (Steven) Knapp of S. Riding, VA; her grandchildren, Ian, Alex (Bri), Kevin, Jennifer, Nicholas, Francesca, Angelica, Gabriella, Gloria, Anthony (Laura), Sophia, Brooke (TK), Justin, Amanda, Matthew (Jasmine), Daniel (Adrienne), William, Jessica (Oronde), Bryan (Tyson), Zachary, Brittany (Josh), Heather (JT), Kaitlin, Lauren (John), Colby, and Tyler; her granddaughter-in-law, Brienne; her 27 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Margaret DeMarco and Linda Mangieri; her beloved pug, Molly; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was also predeceased by her son Anthony Farrisi, Jr.; and her grandson, Michael Kozloski.
Calling hours will be held at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill on Monday, May 15th from 3-6pm, with a funeral service at 6pm.
