Linda Althea Greenblatt, 73, a longtime resident of Red Hook, NY, passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Treasure Cove Hospice in Stuart, FL.

Born on March 29th, 1949, in Callicoon, NY, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Ruth (Meisner) Koberlein. Linda married Jay M Greenblatt on June 1, 1969, and Jay survives at home in Red Hook.

Linda graduated with BS in 1971 and earned her Master’s in Education in 1974 from SUNY New Paltz. She worked as a History & Social Studies teacher at both Red Hook Middle School and Red Hook High School. Linda was an active member of Delta Kappa Gamma education fraternity. Active in her community, Linda was a member of Red Hook Rotary, the Red Hook Society for the Detection & Apprehension of Horse Thieves, and the Red Hook Antique Car Club. An astute follower of politics, Linda also served for many years as an election coordinator for Dutchess County Board of Elections. In addition to her family and many local interests, Linda enjoyed her summers boating on Lake George.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years- Jay; her children, David (Polly) Greenblatt of Estes Park, CO, and Michelle (Jason) Greenblatt Gromoll of Rotterdam, NY; her siblings, Shirley Fick of Spring Brook, PA, and Ronald Koberlein of New Port Richie, FL; her loving grandchildren, Samantha, Jacob, & Elizabeth; along with extended family, friends, and colleagues. Two brothers predeceased her, Charles E. Koberlein and William E. Koberlein.

Friends may call at the Burnett & White Funeral Homes in Red Hook-on Thursday, March 23, 2023, from 4 to 7 pm.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, March 24th, 2023, at 11 am. Pastor Stephen Ernst will officiate. Burial will be at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Red Hook.

Memorial donations may be made in Linda’s memory to the American Cancer Society or any Hudson Valley food bank.
