Mr. John Joseph Cass of Port Jervis, NY died Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at home. He was 58. He was born September 16, 1964, in Tuxedo, NY the son of the late Francis Morely Cass and the late Hazel Dowling Cass.
A family statement read: “He would give anyone the shirt off his back, he was always willing to go out of his way for everyone even if that meant he would go without. He was the most selfless, giving and caring person anyone could ever call their friend. He was a devoted Lotto player whose television on any given day, would be set to the Game Show Network and you best not interrupt his Wheel-of-Fortune. Dad was everyone’s friend, and we will miss him.”
Surviving are: Lifelong best friend and companion April Clark, 3 children: Jordan Beller and his wife Erica, Samantha Cass, Sabrina Cass, 3 brothers: Francis Cass, Jr. and his wife Riki, Lawrence Cass, Justin Carulli, 3 sisters: Julie Monette and her husband Gary, Naomi Cass, Melanie Redl and her husband Todd, 6 grandchildren: Sofia and Cameron Beller, Carter Cass, Andrew Webb, Angelyse Figueroa, and of course Zariyah Bush. John is predeceased by his brother Steve Summerall and niece Heather Cass.
Friends and family are invited to visit the Gray-Parker Funeral Home, Inc. 100 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY 12771 on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Amy Garrett officiating. Cremation was held at MacLennan Hall Crematorium, Milford, PA.
