Joanne M. Thomas, 88, of Farmington, CT died on Saturday, May 20, 2023.
Born on May 6, 1935, in Poughkeepsie, NY, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Margaret Castiglione.
She was a 1953 graduate of Poughkeepsie High School. She worked as a secretary at IBM in Poughkeepsie until 1963. On September 22, 1962, she married the late Donald Thomas.
She is survived by her son, Donald (Karol) Thomas, of Hopewell Jct, NY; daughter, Michele (Paul) Scorza, of Southington, CT; grandchildren, Michael and Meghan Scorza of Simpsonville, SC, Leigh and Dan Watson of Coventry, CT, Alexandra Scorza of Milford, CT, Megan and Cormac Roberts of Guilford, CT, and Nicholas Thomas of Hopewell Jct., NY; and five great grandchildren Elle, Chase, MaKenzie, Callie and Macie. Joanne loved spending time with her family and enjoying a large bowl of chocolate ice cream while she watched jeopardy. The family would like to acknowledge and thank the staff and the friends she met at Village Gate of Farmington for their care and support while she lived there.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am on Friday, May 26th at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Poughkeepsie. Burial will follow at the family plot at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Poughkeepsie, NY.
