Howard “Corky” Ford Clark, 75, a longtime resident of Tivoli, NY, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on August 18, 1947, in Huntingdon, PA, he was the son of the late Dr. Henry Ford and Lois (Gratz) Clark. Howard married Nancy Hess on September 9, 1972, in Huntingdon, PA and the two shared over 50 years of marriage.

Howard served in the United States Navy from 1965 to 1969. He later continued his acts of service within his local community as an EMT, a lifetime volunteer for the Tivoli Fire Company, and a member of the American Legion. Since 2000, Howard had served his community as the Village of Tivoli Justice. Howard was also an avid motorcycle rider, riding many places throughout the country with his friends and wife.

Howard had an accomplished career as a chef instructor at the Culinary Institute of America for over 33 years. Although he taught many different facets of cooking, he was known for his 20-plus year tenure teaching fish cookery. He was also heavily involved with extracurricular events such as Chili Cook-offs, Chowder Cook-offs, and veteran functions.

In addition to his loving wife Nancy, Howard is survived by his son Wade Ford William Clark of West Park, NY, his brother-in-law Francis Xavier Riley II, many nieces and nephews, extended family, and countless friends.

He was predeceased by his sisters, Janet Riley and Judy Gillette (her husband, Lee Gillette).

Friends may call at the Burnett & White Funeral Home, on March 31st from 3 to 6 PM. Services will begin at 6 PM.

In place of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Howard’s memory to a scholarship fund set up in his honor. Donations may be made by check directly to the college:
