Eleanor (Salamone) Sciucco, 95, of Middletown, NY, passed away on March 14th following a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Lou Sciucco. They shared 50 loving years together.

Born and raised in Middletown, NY, she was the daughter of the late Mario and Laura (Duvoli) Salamone. A 1946 graduate of Middletown High School, she was an avid supporter of the Middies. As a traditional woman of her time, she was a homemaker and a devoted mother and grandmother.

For more than 50 years, she was a member of the Webb Horton Presbyterian Church. She gave freely of herself to care for loved ones in need. Nothing pleased her more than spending time with her family. She was affectionately called “Mimi” and was known for her unique expressions that will long survive her. She was an excellent Italian cook and enjoyed bird watching, jigsaw puzzles, pet sitting and reading.

Eleanor is survived by her son Paul and his wife, Jane, her son Lou and his wife, Marianne, and her grandson Jeff, and granddaughter Allison and her husband Ryan Walsh. She will also be fondly remembered by her niece and many nephews. She was the sister of the late Jean (Salamone) Carbone, Vincent Salamone, and Theresa (Salamone) Guaraldi.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 18th from 1-3 pm at Martinez-Morse Funeral Home, 33 Railroad Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940.

As a former dementia caregiver, she strongly supported the Alzheimer’s Association. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to www.Alz.org.

Messages of condolences can be left at www.MartinezFuneralHomes.com.
