Cleo Kay Lefebvre, a resident of Wappingers Falls, entered into rest Friday, April 21, 2023, at Lutheran Care Center in Poughkeepsie. She was 84.

Daughter of the late Phillip Alexander Estevan de Gayarre and Virgie Lee Roland Gayarre, she was born August 1, 1938, in Helena, Arkansas. On September 13, 1958, she married Alphonse Alfred Lefebvre. Mr. Lefebvre preceded her in death on January 17, 2018.  Together with her husband, she owned and operated Little Angels Day Nursery in Wappingers Falls. The care, compassion and love she shared with the children in her care will never be forgotten by all who attended her nursery school.

She was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church in Wappingers Falls. As her children were growing up, she was involved in their lives acting as a Girl Scout Leader and as a coach and manager for the Town of Wappinger Softball League. She was also assistant director of the MidHudson Rivermen Drum & Bugle Corps.

Survivors include her children, Paul Lefebvre and his wife, Colleen of McKinney, Texas and Denise Roarabaugh and her husband, Thomas of Poughkeepsie; her sisters, Willene Walden, Phyllis Steidle, and Kathleen Burns; her grandchildren, Ryan Roarabaugh, Katelyn Serraino and her husband, Joseph, Janelle Martin and her husband, Thaddaus, Phillip Lefebvre and his wife, Caitlin, and Taylor Dodd and her husband, Jake; her great-grandson, Jase; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her sisters, Virginia Jennings, Maisie Mc Donald and Myrtle Butler.

Family and friends will gather from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street in Wappingers Falls.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 27 at St. Mary’s Church, Clinton Street in Wappingers Falls. Interment will follow in Fishkill Rural Cemetery, Route 9 in Fishkill.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
