Charles H. Harrison, 90, of Livingston and a longtime Red Hook resident, passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at his home.

Born on March 11, 1933, in Rhinebeck, NY, he was the son of the late George and Katherine (Lawson) Harrison. Charles married Irene (nee: Coon) Hedin, on June 25, 1988, at St. John’s Reformed Church in Upper Red Hook, NY. Irene survives at home.

A graduate of Red Hook High School, Charles went on to serve in the US Army during the Korean War.

In addition to running his family farm in Red Hook, Charlie also drove bus for many years for Red Hook Central School.

Active in his community, he was a longtime member of St. John’s Reformed Church in Upper Red Hook, NY.

He was a decade’s long member of Hendrick Hudson Lodge #875 Free & Accepted Masons based in Red Hook, NY. Charlie also was a member of the Cyprus Shrine and drove numerous families over the years to the Shriner’s Hospital for care. He was a member of the Scottish Rite, volunteered at the Northern Duchess Hospital Masonic Snack Cart, and was honored with the 2007 NY State-Mason of the Year.

Charlie as was a member of the Southern Tier Senior Citizens, and the Red Hook Boat Club. In addition to his loving wife of nearly 35 years, Irene Hedin-Harrison of Livingston, NY; he is survived by his sons, C. Geoffrey (Julie) Harrison of Red Hook, NY, Greg D. (Cindy) Harrison of Chester, MA, and Ricky G. Harrison of Red Hook, NY; his grandchildren, Taylor Harrison, Kalie Harrison, Sydni Harrison, Lisa Jones, and Joseph Osterhoudt; great granddaughter, Citrus Triplett; along with extended family, and friends.

His son, Donald Lee Harrison, grandchild, Derek Harrison, stepsons, John & David Hedin, sister, Katherine Messina, and twin brother, George Harrison, all predecease him.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, June 16th, 2023, at St. John’s Reformed Church, Upper Red Hook, NY. Pastor Alisha Riepma will officiate. Inurnment with military honors will follow at St. John’s Reformed Church Cemetery, Red Hook.

Memorial donations may be made in Charles’s memory to the Shriners Hospital, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104-2396.
