Ann Marie Clark, of Sebastian, FL, a retired educator, died Wednesday, May 17, 2023, in Sebastian, FL. She was 93.
The daughter of the late Alphonsus and Lillian Smith Clark, she was born on September 9, 1929, in Brooklyn, NY.
Ann received a Bachelor’s degree from Good Counsel College (now part of Pace University), a Master’s degree from St. John’s University in New York and finished required courses toward an Education degree from Teacher’s College at Columbia University. Ann pursued her education career while teaching Spanish in high schools in New York and at the Paterson Catholic High School in Paterson, NJ. At Passaic County Community College in Paterson, she taught English as a second language and was a coordinator of the New Jersey Educational Opportunity Fund Program tutoring lab.
Ann had been a resident of Clifton, NJ since 1980 and a parishioner of St. Philip the Apostle Church until moving to Melbourne, FL to be near her sister.
Ann is survived by her niece Jeanne Curtis and her husband Scott; two grandnieces Nicole and Sarah; her grandnephew Corey; and several cousins.
Ann was predeceased by her sister Eileen Griffin and her brother William Clark.
Graveside services and burial will be Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at 1 PM in the St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery on Cold Springs Road in Liberty, NY. Father Edward Bader will officiate.
